Salam hangat kepada rekan-rekan guru bahasa Indonesia dan para sahabat,

As we move towards the end of a busy Semester 1, we hope all our members have time to have a restful and relaxing break.

Sayembara

Go well to everyone participating in Sayembara as it takes off with its fantastic new look! A reminder that the entry submission date has been extended to the end of Term.

Opportunities from Our Sahabat dan Mitra

We regularly receive emails from our sahabat and mitra—both in Australia and Indonesia—offering exciting opportunities for teachers and students. While some are included in berita-e, you may also want to join our Facebook group or follow us on LinkedIn to see more frequent updates.

  • Native Speaker & University Visits: We frequently receive requests from universities wishing to send groups to visit schools. Most recently, we received an invitation for schools to participate in the online ‘Guru Bantu’ program once again. If you would like to incorporate native speakers into your language program, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Jangan Lupa: Cultural & Language Programs

Please don't forget all the other wonderful promotions we have shared to help bring Indonesian language and culture alive for your students:

  • Monash Indonesian Language Holiday Program: I cannot encourage teachers of Year 9–12 students enough to make the most of this opportunity. Again, speaking from experience, I have had students choose to continue their language pathway after participating in a similar program.

  • KJRI Engagement: Consider exploring the 'KJRI in Schools' initiative, or taking a group to visit the Consulate General. Remember, VILTA subsidises travel costs for rural and regional schools to help make these trips possible! https://www.kemlu.go.id/melbourne/pelayanan-perwakilan/pelayanan-promosi-bahasa-indonesia

  • Bagus Kan: We have the amazing Bagus Kan providing inspirational cultural activities. I am convinced some of my own former VCE students were originally inspired by a Bagus Kan visit during their primary school years! Bagus Kan! - Indonesian teaching resources and services

  • AIYA Connect: We heard from various groups at the conference, including AIYA (Australia-Indonesia Youth Association), who are very keen to provide cultural activities in schools.Australia-Indonesia Youth Association

  • Languages Teachers of Victoria (LTV) provides fantastic PD options, featuring bite-sized online sessions that are perfect for busy teachers. Their face-to-face workshops are equally spot-on, delivering highly relevant content that truly hits the mark.. Inclusive Pedagogies in Languages Education     VCAA F- 10 RESOURCES

Maju terus pendidikan bahasa Indonesia!

There is a lot happening and a growing number of opportunities.

Mari bekerja sama dalam membangun hubungan yang erat dan hormat, demi memperkuat pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia

Tetap semangat dan salam hangat.

Bu Jill
