A Special Thank You to Pak Bayu for His Time at Braemar College

We are delighted to express our sincere gratitude to Pak Bayu for his incredible contribution to Braemar College during his three-week teaching residency. His presence in the Indonesian language department was nothing short of transformative, as he brought a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm, and energy to our classrooms.

Pak Bayu’s assistance in running and supporting our Indonesian classes was invaluable. He worked closely with our teachers to deliver engaging lessons and provided critical support to students across various year levels. His commitment to ensuring a smooth and productive learning environment was greatly appreciated by both staff and students alike.

We would especially like to highlight Pak Bayu’s dedication to our Year 12 students, as he tirelessly helped them prepare for their upcoming oral exams. His willingness to spend extra time practising with the students and offering personalised feedback not only boosted their confidence but also sharpened their speaking skills in Indonesian.

Pak Bayu’s professionalism, patience, and passion for teaching have left a lasting impression on all of us. We are deeply thankful for his hard work and generosity during his time with us, and we hope to welcome him back to Braemar College in the future.

Brunswick North West Primary School

For the first four weeks of term 3 2024 I had the pleasure of hosting Bayu Prihantoro at my school, Brunswick North West Primary, through VILTA’s Guru Bantu Program.

While with us Bayu

  • Helped me prepare Indonesian language resources

  • Assisted students during Indonesian language classes

  • Helped to plan organise and run special events for Indonesian Independence day

  • Enriched my knowledge of Indonesian language and culture

  • Completed graphic design work for posters promoting language learning

  • Contributed to designs for a combined Indonesian and Kulin nations mural.

In essence, during his short stay with us, through his work with myself, my students and the greater school community, Bayu greatly enhanced the quality and visibility of the Indonesian Language program at Brunswick North West Primary School.
