The focus will be on improving our own language skills by discussing a foundation/junior unit of work inspired by Kancil that includes elements of STEM and focusses on using ‘ada’ ‘tidak ada’ as well as the vocab commonly included in Kancil units.
A general introduction will be given in English then teachers will move to break out rooms – bi lingual for beginner and building level learners, the advanced speaker room will attempt full immersion.
Teachers of all language speaking levels from complete beginner to advanced are encouraged to join in as by using break out rooms we will be able to cater for all levels of language skill.
Materials will be available a few days before the meeting and break out room sessions will be recorded so that you can refer back to them and not need to take notes during the conversations but be focussed on participating in conversations. The purpose of these materials is to provide a starting point for discussions. You are invited to bring your own resources and or opinions on teaching the concept of ‘ada’ and ways of making the most of kancil stories.
Hope to see you there!
